Josh Lucas Brings Home a Strong 2nd Place Finish in BoB Event

Written By: Walters Web Design

ST. LOUIS, MO (June 16th, 2008) -- At the last minute Josh Lucas racing hit the road for the BoB event hosted at 201 Speedway in Sitka, KY. Lucas started his night off on the right foot as he took the top spot in qualifying among 29 entries with a lap time of 15.131 seconds. That would set the tone for the night as Lucas would have his best BoB performance of the 2008 racing season.

Bad news for Lucas, they inverted the top 4 heat race starters. This put top qualifier Josh Lucas, 4th in his heat race. This did not slow him down the least amount as he would take the lead by the end of lap one. Lucas would then lead the rest of the race to take home the heat race victory. The four winners of the heat races drew a pill for their starting position in the feature event, Josh's 2 year old pulled the pole position!

The start of the feature didn't come soon enough as they would have many restart attempts. However, once the green flag fell officially Josh Lucas would grab the race lead, followed by Jim LeMaster, Jimmy Arnett, Charlie Jude, and Stanley Haddix. Lucas would hold the lead until Lap 12 where Jimmy Arnett took the top spot away. Lucas pressured back hard for the lead. However, Joey Kramer who took the field on a series provisional had come from 21st to take not only second from Lucas but also the race lead. Lucas now found himself in third but would run into some great luck because in the next handful of laps Arnett spun around while leading and then McKenzie who was running second at the time ended his night with mechanical problems.

The final restart was a nail bitter for Josh Lucas Racing as all drivers where in hot pursuit of a $1,500 victory with just five laps to go. Kramer would lead the restart followed by Lucas, Marlar, Kevin Mayabb and Tolson. Lucas pressured hard during the remaining laps and was slowing reeling Kramer in before he ran out of time. Lucas would have to settle for a strong second while Kramer a 3 time winner of the BoB championship took the victory.
