Josh Lucas Runs Second at Bob Event for the Second Time

ST. LOUIS, MO (August 26th, 2008) -- Josh Lucas found himself on home turf this past weekend for the Battle of the Bluegrass event at Ponderosa Speedway. The team found themselves heading in the right direction right from the beginning of the night as they posted fourth quickest out of thirty cars. This gave them a good starting position for the heat and he took the victory. Then they found luck was on their side as well as they drew a three for the start in the feature.

The start of the thirty lap feature event was a little slow for Lucas as he would lose third spot to Benji Lee lap 2. Lucas would hold this spot for most of the race and just when you thought things were coming to an end a battle for second between Jason Wheatley and Benji Lee on lap 19 would cause Lee to spin his machine going into turn four, giving Lucas the third spot. A restart was all Lucas needed to get Wheatley for second as he did just that on lap twenty going into turn three. Joey Kramer ran away with the show all night and was just too far ahead by the time Lucas got around Wheatley. Kramer would lead the final ten laps to take the $1,500 victory while Lucas came home second.

True Lucas has yet to pull off a win at a Battle of the Bluegrass event so far in 2008. However, it seems he is always right their nibbling at the leader. So, far in 2008 Lucas has been in the top ten for seventeen of the eighteen entered races. Solid top ten ten's and top five's along with two runner up finishes have put Lucas ninth in BoB points. That is not all, Lucas has also found himself fourth in points at Bluegrass Speedway and fifth in points at Ponderosa Speedway. Lucas would not find himself in the spot he is in without a good crew, Lucas would like to thank Raffo Elmore for making every race so far in 2008 and for his help putting the 78 car in the front of the field week in week out.
