Josh Lucas Runs Fourth at Ponderosa Speedway BoB Event After Coming From B-Main

ST. LOUIS, MO (May 27th, 2009) -- Josh Lucas challenged himself on familiar turf this past weekend for the second Battle of the Bluegrass event for the 2009 season, this one hosted at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY with a nice payout of $1,500. The team had just an average qualifying run as their hot lap put them 17th overall of 34 modified entries. Lucas would find himself in an uphill battle for the remainder of the night. He would run fifth in his heat race, however they took only the top four to the main event. Missing the show by only one spot the team would find themselves in a B-Main. Lucas jumped out to win the B-Main giving him a seventeenth place start for the A-Main.

Lucas was on the gas to say the least for the thirty lap main event. He would start seventeenth but by lap fifteen he had moved into the third position passing about one car per lap as he worked his way through the tough field of talented Battle of the Bluegrass Series drivers. Lucas held the spot for seven laps before Russ Gabbert pressed hard for the podium position. Toward the end of the race Lucas found himself fighting a tire going down as well as a failed fuel pump. He would hold on to the fourth position for the final eight laps and hold on for a solid top five run.

Lucas has yet to pull off a win so far in 2009. However, Lucas has been in the top ten for four and top five for two of the six entered races. The team has been a solid contender for the win in almost every race entered and looks forward to next weekend's events.
