Race Report: April 30th - Ponderosa Speedway

MAY 4th, 2010 (ST. LOUIS, MO) Josh Lucas unloaded at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY on Friday April 30th. Right out of the gate the #78 modified piloted by Lucas was fast as he set fast time with a 15.39 against 20 strong open wheel drivers. In the heat Josh would start on the front row and bring back a 3rd place finish. The feature event was set to be entertaining and keep the crowd on the edge of their seats.

After setting fast time and running 3rd in the heat Lucas would start 3rd for the feature event. Quickly Lucas found himself battling with his good friend Kelly Warren for the top spot. In the next 3 laps they exchanged the lead 3 times in an extremely entertaining battle. The Ponderosa Speedway flagman waved the white flag with Josh Lucas in the lead. However, On the final lap Lucas punctured a right rear tire and was forced to slow and hold control of the car while crossing the line in 4th. Kelly Warren went on to win the race, Benji Lee would finish 3rd, with Randy Turpin just behind Lucas at the line in 5th.
