Chassis Expert Wayne Brooks Pilots #78 Josh Lucas Racing Entry at Bluegrass Speedway

JULY 1st, 2010 (ST. LOUIS, MO) Josh Lucas Racing partnered with Wayne Brooks from Bald Knob, AR to help improve the overall setup performance of the #78 Larry Shaw Modified Chassis. Brooks who has done many seminars for Larry Shaw made the trip to the Josh Lucas shop and shared valuable information one on one all day Saturday before the race. He arrived at about 9:00 AM and together we made numerous changes to the setup of the car. Wayne started at the front of the car and worked his way to the back. He made a lot of changes and left us with some very valuable information. After all the changes where made we then scaled the car out and by the time it was scaled it was almost 6:00 and time to head to the track for the American Modified Series race.

Wayne Brooks drove the car Saturday night, now this man had never raced on the track and actually never seen the track until we pulled in, he did the set up by the track size and conditions we told him. There were 35 cars entered and he qualified 6th, ran 3rd in the heat and finished 8th in the feature. Of course, he was being a little conservative as it was not his own car but still some good results.

After the races were over Josh Lucas took the car out for some laps to get a feel for the changes. Josh loved the changes but said it will take him a few laps to get the hang of them. Wayne watched Josh on the track for several laps and then told Josh what he needed to do in regard to his driving style to make this chassis work for him. and he also told us a few more changes to make after he saw how Josh's driving style was. It was a very busy day as well as a learning experience for Josh Lucas Racing and we gathered information we can use for the rest of our dirt modified career.
